An existing attic conversion with a glazed sloping ceiling was to be adapted as an office for a tax consultant. The functional units of this design included fitted cupboards, a small kitchen with bar, an area with comfortable seating for consultations with clients as well as a work area with desk.
The great length of the room was broken up by a change in level with a curved, built-in balu-strade which enclosed the seating group. This created two distinct spatial areas, each with its own characteristic atmosphere, an effect emphasised by the differing ceiling heights, materials used, acoustics and lighting.
