A prototype for a branch of the Solid Gold jewellery chain, which was in the process of being founded, was to be developed as a pilot project as part of the development of the chain's image.

The client's instructions were that all the chain's branches were to be characterised by a uniform appearance which would reinforce the company's image through multiple exposure.

The shop is characterised on the outside by a dark blue façade, the interior by white walls and fitted glass showcases together with specially-developed free-standing counter display cases. The specially made pendant-lights, an integral part of the visual appearance of the shop, illuminate the surfaces where the products are presented and provide brilliant light for the close examination of individual items. The lights are encircled by glass globes which glow at different intensities according to the line of vision and which suggest on an associative level the idea of the decorative and the ornamental.
